he knows the hitch of my breath,
the anticipatory gasps
the sound of his voice in my ear invokes.
and he knows that the fluttering of my pulse
in the hollow of my neck
and the flushing of my cheeks
is my body's adulation.
the tautening of my belly and my quivering thighs,
the arching of my back
is all an altar to his splendor
he has brought this gift to me
and I gratefully receive it, moaning his name,
bursting forth praise from my lips
little sighs of contentment
when I am sated at last
