Here I sit
Wanting to try my hand
At composing a prose
Not anything grand

I've read so many,
And they all were swell.
I often wondered,
When my prose I would tell

So here I am
Without a doubt
Sharing my prose
A short piece about

Nothing so great
Or chaste, or mean
A simple few words,
Sweet and clean.

Sometimes I ponder
Thoughts race through my head,
Will the reader like it?
Fear fills me with dread

But today, I've decided
To face my fears
And share my short poem,
For everyone's ears.

So if you like it,
I can smile with glee.
If you don't oh well,
My sad face, you'll see.
