My Reflection


It only took a gentle nudge
for him to turn me
so I faced myself
in his sorrow
and there I felt
all I risked to pain.
The surfaced sin
of exposed skin
jaundiced thoughts
like jarring pins
punctured through
my reflection;
I had to look away.
