In a moment of solitude, I reminisce
on a gift of good fortune, so easy to miss
When fate took a hand in odds so very small
that I wonder how it could have happened at all

So that two souls who lived their lives so far apart
Could pass close enough that they touched at the heart

And a friendship forged just with words, written and spoken
Became a true love so strong it can never be broken

And so to God, I give my thanks without end,
For the gift of my soulmate, my love, my best friend.
