Words cried out into the
darkness of night.
Promises made between
moans of pleasure.
The waves of
wonderful feelings,
Wash you into ecstasy
again and again.

Your lover now sleeps
an unconscious sleep.
While you lie crying softly,
staring at the ceiling.
Knowing what the
new dawn will bring.
The sting of humiliation
and the pain of longing.

It has happened
too many times before.
It will not happen again,
not now, not with him.
You rise quietly
and dress.
Gathering your things
before you leave.
You kiss his cheek
as your tears fall softly upon
his lips.
