As the sun sets over the horizon,
a bitter sweet smile curves my lips.

She approaches.

I greet her with open arms,
relishing the feel of her soft caress.

Tears begin their familiar descent as
I share with her my deep seeded pain
and overwhelming sorrow.

She comforts me.

I feel as if she is stroking my skin while
whispering her secrets.

She speaks to me of life and death,
of passion and torment,
of demons and angels.

I lose myself in her gentle embrace.

I open my eyes to find she is once again
being banished by the dawn.

I savor our last moments.

A bitter sweet smile curves my lips,
as the sun peeks over the horizon
