This used to be my season,
   a reason to be happy.
I lost that a little while ago-
don't know if I'll have it again.
The colors of fall remind me of you:
   Reds, golds, browns, and orange.
Every zephyr stirring the fallen leaves
   whispers your name to me
And my tears speak of our love.

I recall you said you were mine
and I thought I could do anything.
And I remember you left
   taking the thought with you.
Now the daytime mocks me
    in its warmth and light
When all I have is cold and dark
    in me, cradling my soul
And my tears speak of our love.

I used to watch you sleeping,
   amazed at my blessing.
Smiling at the sound of you,
   thrilled by your touch.
Now the night is hateful-
   no blessings, smiles or thrills.
I so dread the night
   and each day is pain
And my tears speak of our love.
