What wonderful agony
Awaiting with eager hope;
My tongue flicks out
My lips to moisten;
You’ve switched off the light
And now descending;
Tenderly measured this deliberation,
And tenderly measured are the beats of my heart
As you pursue this occasion.
I’ve never yet been kissed
My sweet secret, unshared
A secret no longer holding power over truth
As you overcome my lips with yours.
The wait is over, the threshold crossed.
The barrier has been broken.
There are new worlds to explore.
