Such a promising start
Now it is the end
Shattered is my heart
Played the fool again

I gave my deepest love
In hopes it'd be returned
Lies... Deceit... Betrayal...
You think I would have learned

It makes it hard to love again
And impossible to trust
Never will I make the mistake
And confuse love again with lust
