You woke up beside me in bed
With a new day, new sunshine streaming through the windows
You hair sat like a haystack on your head
But I didn't care because you were smiling.
Your shadow above you was gone
Your fears all dispersed
I waited to see if again it would come
But it looked like you were really trying.
All those months and months
Of faking, crying, hating, fearing
Hurt me like you so much
I thought with you I was dying.
Your spirits high, your heart happy
I almost cryed of joy in surprise
You'll never know what you mean to me
Nor what I see in you through my eyes.
I made you eggs for breakfast
And fed you piece by piece
Shocked into hysterics
Because you haven't eaten in weeks.
Ah, my dear, my star, my heart
My favorite memory of you
Is the simple one of wakng up to new sunshine
To see my love smiling.
