New Year Reflections

byButterflies512©

Things I learned or have been learning about in 2012 that I will take with me into 2013.

1. I will honor my own feelings. I will not deny them, I will trust them and listen to them and accept them.

2. I will love myself. Without this, there is no completeness. No one else will ever make you whole unless you know you are whole without them.

3. I will take risks. I will push myself towards the butterflies, the things that scare me, the things that make me want to run the other way. Because no cowardice is ever rewarded, and no risk ever came without pushing past the comfort zone.

4. I will let go of one thing that brings me down, makes me stressed and anxious. Just acknowledge it, accept it's presence and let it go. Ruminating on one less thing that makes you feel badly is ok, it's ok not to think about it.

5. I will cultivate positivity in myself and those around me. I will smile more, laugh more, relax more, let go more and play more. Playfulness keeps us youthful, playing makes us smile and laugh and happy.

6. I will be happy. I will be happy here and now because here and now is all there is, all there ever will be, here and now.

7. I will accept that there are some things I cannot know. No amount of thinking will turn up answers for questions that are unanswerable.

(I did share this one other place, but no matter where I post it, it's more for me than for anyone else, a reflection on my year past more than a plan for the future...if by chance, I put some good ideas in other people's heads, I will have begun to cultivate positivity...)
