Raindrops chase each other
down the pane of glass
and furious thunder and lightning
wage war in the sky.
But inside you and I are
safe in our sanctuary.
Leaving our work behind
we rest in the comfort of our love,
a shared meal that we prepare together:
turning water into wine
and fruit and cheese are all…
a flickering candle.
Symbols of life’s journey just begun.

But when I see the dance of light
playing through your hair,
