Night Drive

bycavu182©

Straight across the desert at night
stars shinning absurdly bright
radio booming tunes from the past
speedometer screaming: you're going too fast,
Drinking coffee like thick motor oil
seatbelts cinched we're on a roll
a ton of steel without any top
velocity vector with no plans to stop,

What are we doing here where are we going
red blood cells in hot bodies flowing
each wired with high voltage dreams
prime numbers and infinite schemes,
Lean and fast, adrenalin, speed
warning signs that we seldom heed
immune to past, no plans for the week
but perhaps tonight we'll find what we seek ...
