We saddled each other
Readying to scale a mountain.
Perhaps it is closer
Can it be further?
We start at a gallop
The soft footing of the hooves,
Gentle rocking with the other.
Pick up the pace
Bring our hearts to a quickened race.
Muscles quiver, trembles strong and mighty
Clutching, our arms harness tightly.
The mountain abruptly turns rugged,
Our breathing ragged,
We slow to a gallop.
Soft footing on the hooves,
Gentle rocks with each other,
Refreshed we start all over.
Yes, we made our mountain further
And I rode with my stallion
To dizzying heights,
Oh most pleasant exertion!
Toiling upward into the night.
