I look out my window to the distant horizon.
The slowly moving nightfall creeping closer.
The darkness will soon devour all in it's path.
I can only wonder what is to come.

The air grows colder like the hand of death.
The grey of winter slowly turning black.
The silence is felt not heard by me.
I can only wonder what is to come.

I feel no fear as to the coming of night.
An increasing stillness my thoughts at ease.
Once more yet again the darkness is here.
I can only wonder what is to come.

I turn from the window and retire to bed.
The wind outside is a calm soothing sound.
The light on my table pierces the gloom.
I wonder yet again what is to come.

I close my eyes slowly and see black once again.
Peace fills my body as sleep overtakes me.
Dreams fill my mind I envision them all.
No more tonight will I wonder what is to come.
