she left with no goodbye
no last lingering embrace
no tender parting kiss
no hankie dabbed at eye
no hint she would return
no such luck!
no epistle to Dear John
no "this is how it ends"
no "it was not meant to be"
no "in some other time or place"
no "can't we just be friends"
to be frank I'd've settled
for a sympathy fuck.
