Not Even Space
----------------------------

Your back to mine.

Not even space between us
Under a cool sheet
In a twilit room
On a quiet night
Where, if I close my eyes
I can see you.
Somehow we found each other
And that's all the proof of God I'll ever need.

Your legs to mine.

Not even space
Between us
Under a cool sheet in a twilit room
On a quiet night where
As we stir
Our bodies touch a bit more.
The feeling of our rubbing calves
Makes my breath come a little faster.
You're not sleeping anymore.

Your lips to mine.

Not even space
Between us under
A cool sheet
In a twilit room on a quiet night where as
Two spoons in a drawer I taste your lips
And your body opens
Like a flower
Under mine. You reach to touch my face
And we're all alone in creation
Together.

Your hips to mine

Not even space between us
Under a cool sheet in a
Twilit room
On a quiet night; and because the
Door is cracked
Groans and heavy sighs also leave the room
When they leave both of us
As I ease inside the sounds are like a pinch
Telling me I'm not dreaming

Your hands to mine

Not even space between us
Under a cool
Sheet in a twilit
Room on a quiet
Night, now not so quiet.
Our palms clenched together, fingers locked
As we move in rhythm.
On top of you, I feel your legs wrap tightly around
mine
And in a haze I see
How strong you really are

Your heart to mine

Not even space between us,
Under
a cool sheet
In
A twilit room
On
A quiet night
And as we
Come together, every drop that is you and I mingles.
For a moment
all we are
is just the few, single heartbeats
that are "us"

Your cheek to mine

Not even
Space
Between us, under a cool sheet in
A twilit room on a quiet night.
We lay in enfolded
Lingering
With idly tracing fingertips in silence.
Just then
I remember your eyes
that first time I confessed my love
To you
So dearly

And I smile.

Your back to mine
Not even space between us,
Under a cool sheet
In a twilit room
On a quiet night
Where, if I close my eyes,
I can see you.
Somehow, we found each other,

And that's all the proof of God I'll ever need.
