After long suffering, hope is painful.
It brings realisation of waste.
That doesn't mean you should give up hope.
Chance favours the prepared mind.
Without hope your mind is not prepared.

Thoughtful

I see hope as a child of love. You can believe in love even when you lose hope, but if you no longer believe in love, hope is impossible. Both are integral in our lives; only the most damaged in soul or spirit are entirely capable of abandoning love, and thus abandoning hope entirely. I applaud your prose.
