NOW I SIT ALONE...(for Bill)

Was I just a joke?
Just a notch on your belt?
Now I sit alone
Wondering how you really felt.

Hot, steamy stories -
Promises of forthcoming bliss,
Now I sit alone
Wondering what did I miss?

Nights filled with passion
Days filled with hope.
Now I sit alone
Wondering how do I cope?

So quickly I found you,
So suddenly you're gone.
Now I sit alone
Wondering what I did wrong.

Why do I feel so full of guilt -
That I'm the one who's to blame?
When I know in my heart
It was all part of your game.

You put me in check,
Then so quickly in mate.
Now I sit alone
And silently I wait.

Shoud I try to replace you?
One, two, maybe three?
Now I sit alone
Wondering who could set me free?

You said it so loud
Yes, you were so clear
But now I sit alone
Because I chose not to hear

Past lies made you scared
And ruthless & cruel.
Now I sit alone
Guess I was quite the fool.

Oh, how stupid of me
To call you my friend.
Yes, how stupid to believe
The dream would not end!!

Very sad

I know a lot of us have been in this position before. This was heartwrenching to read, but very well done. :)
