Now There There

With pain in your eyes you come to me
with trembling hands and torpid memory.
You need a shoulder even I can see
so here I am. You may lean on me.

I extend my hands to you in woe
standing firm to hear the story told.
I understand that your world is cold.
My hands are warm and they are yours to hold.

You have been alone through desperate times.
Your struggle is sad and loneliness a crime.
You feel so much you can not define.
Grasp my hands. Your pain will be mine.

It is hard to believe that some one can care
but you can be soothed; now there there...
