I looked at the ocean
from along the shore
it sounded as if
I heard the sea snore

I watched swells rise
then subside
like a chest
of massive size

a wave came in
then went out
like a breath
from the ocean's mouth

then came the wind
a blowing breeze
it felt as though
I felt the sea breathe

I walked away
silent I kept
I didn't want to wake
the ocean while it slept
