red is the color of a fresh-picked rose
but blue is the color of Picasso's glow

purple is the color of poetry
but blue is the hue of the news

pink is the color of a desert sunset
but blue is the color of Apollo I'll bet

green is the color of vibrant pines
but blue is the color when the ocean shines

black is the color of the midnight coffin
but blue is the color
of sincere mourners sobbing

white is the color of idealistic snow
but blue's the color of those who've had a go
