i enter the room
there are no machines now, no hiss/click/hiss noises keeping you alive
sustaining your torture

looking down at your cold cold body
it is not you, not really, not anymore
but it is all i have to hold
one last time
so hold you i do
for all i am worth
and the warmth of a lifetime of memories
washes over me
and i do not feel cold
and you will never be old

but is your lifetime of memories enough?
it must be; it is all i have
for now
goodbye my sweet sissaleen
till we meet again
may we never part
in my heart you live
free of pain, hospitals, pills and ills
a little girl with the devil in her eyes
forever more

stay warm my sweet
and i will now bear the cold cold ache
for you
the burden of your life has eased
but mine must now begin
without you, my hero
to guide me beside me
yet still inside me
your spirit imbides me
and i will get drunk on the memory of you
just this once
tomorrow my tears will wash away this
guilty indulgence of grief that lives tonight
life goes on
i must go on
somehow
thank you for being you
in my life
my sweet sissaleen
