Mummy?

Do you know how God made us alive?
He had to make us alive
cause we were not really alive
before He decided He wants us alive.

First we were nothing.
Then mummy and daddy loved each other.
You held hands, kissed and hugged.
Then God said you were the right mummy and daddy for me.

I grew in mummy’s body.
I was breathing now and then.
God made my body by sticking in the bones,
making it fit together like a puzzle.
He used magic glue to make it stick.
And in the end He wrapped on my skin
and stuck on my head
and used loads of hair on my head.

And that’s how God made me alive.

God is special cause He is also alive
Although we can’t see Him.

I don’t really know who made Him
but She must be someone really special.

(Written in collaboration with my then 4 year old daughter C.E.K. )

Innocence

The beauty and innocence of a child, well done through the eyes of knowledge. Thank you

precious

I do absolutely see the difference Rainman referred to in your other poem. I did read it but did not vote or leave a comment. This by far a "better" poem in many ways.

keep on writing, you have it in you, just need to be able to see it:)

Touching.

A splendid idea to slant this so heavily toward a child's perspective.

Unlike any of the poems I've read by you. - this is original in both concept and phrasing .

If you decide to do edits on this, my suggestion would be to slant it even more toward the child, removing the semblance of adulthood by "unrepairing" the building - (punctuation, sentence structure, etc.) - so it is more childlike in appearance as well. I have a feeling that would make it even more poignant, if you tread carefully while doing it.

Cute with innocent simplicity;

Nice touch with the ending.
