When I was just a little boy, I liked to play and laugh.
For having fun was all that I would need.
As I got older, people said “You’ve got to act your age”
Be more mature or you will not succeed.
A fav’rite trick I used to play when I was still a lad
Was making faces at a photo op
I’d stick my tongue out, cross my eyes or squinch my face up tight
My parents said to me “You’ve gotta stop.”
As I grew up I did the things that people said I should.
I turned mature; oh goodness, how I did.
But somehow, all the fun was gone; my life had turned to gray.
I missed the time I had while still a kid.
But now I’m old and back to having fun like as a boy.
I play again wherever I may go.
So now, when people come and point a camera in my face
I make a face just like the one below.
