My God lives in a pigeon-hole Up there at the top of His spire. I think that it is safer that way; it allows me to keep some control.

The trouble is, you see, that once I realised I needed Him, He let me grant Him three wishes. Wishes that would give Him life; wishes that would give Him control.

Omnipotence was His first wish – Omnipotence; all power. All power means one truth, and one truth means no disagreement; ever.

Next, to be everywhere, to be omnipresent. Seeing all, aware of all – but doing nothing; ever.

Finally, omniscience. Know all. Understand everything. Change nothing. Remain impassive; amen.

What good is power if it brokers no compromise?
What good is foresight if the seer is blind?
What good is knowledge if it is never shared?

This deadly triumvirate, yes, this Holy Trinity; it demanded mono-theism; led to total schism – created secularism.

So now, to make some recompense, I am setting my God free, with one last wish. I wish him the totality of omnibenevolence.

I wish that my God would, at last, love me.
