When he says he could
When he says he might
I warn myself of
Unbridled delight

Of fear and terror
Of poor memories unfading
I look at the bricks in my fist
Considering blockading

I shouldn't abide by instant lust
It's too often turned platinum to rust

If I hand you my heart
I do so in kind
Knowing that trust
Will soon follow in time

You've never raised a weapon
Nor my suspicion
Being yours is truly
Of my own volition

May you be blessed
For your kindness and truth
Know that I'm coming to adore
Every molecule of you
