Once in a lifetime

bynickiche©

They always told me I’d have one chance to make my dreams come true, they told me that missing that chance will lead to no second chances, they told me I would never make it.

I told them that if I believe in myself, everything will work out great, I told them that determination and persistence would be enough, I told them that no matter how many times people would call me that I am a failure, I would prove them wrong. They laughed in my face.

People told me that I am not smart enough, not pretty enough, not experienced enough. The rule of the game where, very simple. Be the best – or you’re out.

If you were not on the top of the chain, there was no place for you. Someone better would step into your place. Someone smarter, prettier and with more experience, all of the qualities I did not posses. I stumbled on my own feet, falling down.

Getting back up the first time is the hardest. You feel like you did not prove yourself to them, that you could have done more, better, stronger. Get up, brush the dirt of your clothes and move forward. If you’ve got up once, you will do it again.

Who are they to tear you down? Nobody.

What makes their opinion so much better then your own? Nothing.

Who are they to tell you were you should go? Nowhere.

Regardless of what people say, regardless of what they think of you, YOU have to choose your own path. They do not matter; they are not the people who will judge you in the end. Only your dreams and ambitions matter, because this is your future, and your future only. You have the power to write your own story, your own life.

There is nothing you cannot do.

You are the best at what you do. What you do matters. Do not, ever, ever, EVER, give up. Regardless of what people say, do or think. You are you, that’s what made you unique. That is the difference, they may all be the same, but you are not.

That is why you are not one of them.

Look back, remember when they told you “You can never become a success, you will never be anyone, you are worthless”, stand up, and tell them “I’ve succeed and what I do is important, no matter what you think”.

You achievements are greater then any jealousy from the people around you. At first they told me that I will never make it, with a grin on my face I can walk up to them and say

“You’ve lied, I took my one in a lifetime chance, and so should you.”
