I found him
Alone
Quiet
Without love
No tender touches
And affection

His heart seemed closed
Not because
He couldn't love
But because
He was afraid
To let go

His faith
His honour
His vows
Trapped him
In time

I couldn't bear
To watch him
Suffering
Alone

With my two hands
I reached
Begging him to
Take a chance
To come
To feel

Their warmth
Their comfort
The love
Waiting
Wanting
HIS

Willing him
To trust
To forgive
Himself

For he is not to blame
Sometimes
Life is cruel
Not on purpose
But by accidents
Unexplained

He moved closer
And as he did
I could visually see
A glow

In his brooding eyes
In the set line of his lips
As he began
To smile
To laugh
To talk
To write again

Written thoughts
Keep silent
To long
Now free
To express
His desire
Fire
Hope
And dreams

Revealing his passion
And the love
He had to share
I watched
And saw
As his heart opened

In unison
As he moved into
My two open hands
They closed
Around him
As one heart opened
HIS

And together
Wrapped
In this safe place
I welcomed him
