Wakeup sweetheart,time to get up.
I have laid out your dress and shoes.
Sorry,I don't know how to braid hair.
I don't know how to make french toast.

We are running late, half past eight.
Lunch? You need lunch? Just buy today!
Does it matter the hat don't match?
Permission slip? It's due today?

No playground today, I have chores.
I'm sorry my roast tastes different!
Time for bed, we both need our rest.
Kiss your dolly and say your prayers.

Honey, I miss you, I love you.
How did you do it? So much care...
I'll never learn to do her hair.
Our loss of you. It don't seem fair.

Wish I had just one last kiss.
Most of all it's the hugs I miss.
I give our baby an extra kiss,
to replace the one she will miss.

The coldest day I can recall,
the final kiss from you so cold.
The weight of Atlas crushing in,
my heart so numb, it wouldn't beat.

Though life goes on against my will.
I see your face in our sweet girl.
I sense you here to protect us.
I still can't get the braids just right,
but with your love I won't give up.

Makes me want to cry

I really can feel the emotion in this poem so it is from this perspective that I gave it a 5*

I don't know enough to analyse it, but it tugs at my heart strings, somebody trying so hard to bring up a daughter, and every day reminded of the mother that was lost. The love that has not diminished even a fraction from the moment that she died. If only she could see, the mother would be so proud.

There I did cry

Awww indeed.~

Gracious how my heart cries for your loss.

You painted the most loving, caring picture.

Just a heartbreaking look loss ...

Huggs my friend.

Hmm, ya know it helps a lil

if the hair is slightly wet when braiding.

Just a tip that works for me ... sometimes, lol.

More Please ~

Cried

I feel like an idiot as I write this with tears streaming down my cheeks. A very moving poem that pulled my biggest heart string. I am a parent so this poem really hit hard. Wonderfully written.

Goodness

I didn't get much past the part where the roast tastes different and knew what was going on. You did a great job showing how hard it is to lose someone so important to a family. *hugs*
