A man’s passion like fire
Urgent, primal, surging
always on a knives edge of ignition

A woman’s passion like water
pooling, rippling, flooding
it has many different states

All too often the water will douse the flames
rarely the flames will turn the water to vapour
When perfectly prepared fire and water will ignite

That simmer of passion unspoiled
opposing forces becoming one
Symbiotic, synergetic and sexual

Those perfect moments as you breathe as one
Thrust as one, union of the flesh complete
Union of opposites
To create a perfect boiling point

" always on a knives edge of ignition"

Everything seems to work well to me with the exception of this line.

I would go with something other than knives that could actually create a spark and keep in within the theme. Like perhaps, flint.
