It was gin today
that I smelled on your breath
as you leaned in to laugh
against my cheek,
close to my mouth
from which I’ve told you
not to drink
around me. You are
liquored up, laughing,
brushing your hand against mine,
suggesting our affairs
should be with one another,
and I am left blushing
and smiling all day.
You are older than my father,
the same age as my mother,
so why do you dare
turn me on?
