Our children

As babes we adore them
As toddlers we teach them
As teenagers we detest them

This is our future
The need to love
the need to hold
All dissappear
When our vision is blurred

Some love them
Some hate them
Some abuse them
Our only hope for tomorrow

Lets reach out and hold them
Nurture them
Respect them
And our Future
Will be saved

I agree with what you wrote, but you're not really saying anything that will stay with me. You are telling me things. Not showing me, as a reader, anything. Give me some details, descriptions. Why do we detest teens? Why are children the future? Tell me in your own words; show me. I read a few of your other poems. Stolen was a good poem. It told me more of a story and it will stay with me for awhile. So, I know you can offer the reader more. I do thank you for sharing your poetry.
