We are learning lessons together
You and I
Oh yes indeed

Where do we stand now?
Is it so hard to find?
We stand on the edge
Of a great yawning abyss

The cliff we claim is Now and Here
The deep we face is If and Consequent
We know how we got here
More or less
The path we took

But how then to fall?
How will we go into the divide?
Will we jump or climb?

I rather think we fall
After all we cannot stand here forever
Now is only now for so long
Until it becomes Ago

But we make our choice
Based on how we made it before
And what it got us and them
And we live that choice
Because it is all we can do
