LEMONIA/ (F)LEAP EDELTRAUD => BIG SOUTH WEATHER no. 3 => KOULOUMA 2013

KOUTSOURAS
MONDAY AFTERNOON
18/3/2013

OUR OWN REMAINS OF A DAY 1
(STRANGE SHORE)

That world that You and I lived is disappearing,
tavernas, bars, sea shores, are changing face,
nature itself this change is engineering,
we'll meet like strangers then, in this strange place.

Today I took that coastal route of yesterday,
the urge within me hard to disobey,
inspiringly romantic is that yester play,
to sing Our Own Remains of a Day.

Some children flying kites are still remaining
as we are heading East, towards Sitia,
you find the whole fiesta entertaining,
I make you laugh with jokes,my Greek asteia.
(My baby, Lent is starting, so, Nistia!(1))

"What does it mean?" you ask, "I'm not religious,
what stupid thing is that? We have to eat!"
"It only means, my babe, we're more prestigious!
Fancy sea food we'll have and stop the meat!"

We laugh and kiss and love each other dearly,
we leave the coastal road turning North,
you touch my hand, I feel your heart so clearly,
that magic touch is guiding me henceforth.

You're photographing everything unusual,
a heard of goats, a streamlet, an old hut,
to you this world is new, to me as usual,
but sharing it with you is my new start.

I love you, Lemonia, my heart is aching,
I loved you then, but now I love you more,
I write these lines and my hands are shaking,
Makry Yialos became this strange shore.

(1) Nistia = lent, not eating.

I liked this very much

Easily see the happy couple, melancholy couple having romantic time together.

OK

I like...

dearly/clearly seem like the weak rhymes, a rewrite to make them less end-stopped

unusual/usual, bad

if this is a song

(My baby, Lent is starting, so, Nistia!(1))

what happens here?
