Our Sacrifice

My heart continues to brake
as if time forgot these wounds
My soul is battered and weary
unsure if it will hold onto this life
or pass on to the next

My dark Prince calls to me
his voice bitter sweet
He tells me to walk with him and forget all others
His eyes telling the story of an old man
through hardened shells of what they once were
yet his face remains young and crisp
His voice could bring any women to her knees
sending shivers up her spine as she yearns for him
His body a reflection of strength and agility
yet capable of extreme passion with the softest of touches

His eyes though, are the windows to his soul
tortured by daily life
Imprisoned in the shell of his body
held captive, tormented

No kind words or actions can save him from what he is
He is free to love no one, for no one could ever love him
He is destine to walk the nights
merely a shadow of the man he once was
tortured by his body, yet yearning for more

I am cursed
forever able to hear him calling my name
Pleading with me to come, to join him
to save him from himself

Together we are cursed to stand alone
watching as our paths intertwined from the beginning
never understanding how or why
Each to feel the power of love
from the softest touch, to the roughest kisses
Longing for each other
as we are pulled apart
knowing the love we share can only be felt from a distance
For it is too powerful to be felt or seen by any other mortal
This is the life we live, torn between worlds, grasping at the shreds of our remaining reality

How long has it been
sense I felt his cool kiss on my skin
His strong hands sliding down my body
lifting me from this barren world to a world of magic all our own

Tragic it seems now
that we were ever destine to meet
our short time together empowered us both beyond belief
Parted by worlds unknown to each other
our cries scaring our memories haunting us still

I am cursed
forever able to hear him calling my name
Pleading with me to come join him
to save him from himself

I have answered him this time
forever we walk
together, as monsters of the night
together we will handle the torment of our bodies
our souls, our hungers
for our paths have been entwined from the beginning of time
This was our destiny, our sacrifice

A few typos i.e brake should be break .... destine/destined

I don't really understand the contradiction as in stanza 4 you say he can't love anyone and no-one can love him yet all the other stanzas are about your love for each other
