Out of the Blue

I step into the blue and look for you,
A shadow amid a mist of words.
I hang back hoping you will feel me there,
Not wanting to speak your name.

I wait for you in the blue,
As another faceless name in the clouds.
I hang back hoping you will call my name
And reach out for me through the tangle of words.

I long for you to step out of the blue
And finally touch my face
And embrace more than the words that I cast out.
I long for your voice to finally speak my name.

You have stretched my mind since first I met you.
Now I ache to stretch entirely before you,
Make myself a gift to you
And step out of the blue and into your light.
