I find myself standing outside
your ability to be what I need
though what I long for I have shared

For you I would be every woman
a gift you cannot comprehend
as to sate your hunger you have not cared

You are who you are as am I
both incomplete for different reasons
compromised have I, while you will not

My tears bring no end to the problem
and you have none as you
see nothing wrong with what we've got

I know now that things will
never change while I stay
in our small world inside

At long last, I seek my soul’s desire
without your knowledge while
new happiness and guilt I still hide
