I wish you knew
the depth of this ocean heart.

These unruly waves
that crashed upon distant shores.

I wish you knew
the places within me
without names or destinations yet.

I wish you knew
it was in the abyss of those places
that I found this fear and self loathing.

That I learned to bleed here
And I began to hope
that whatever bad parts their were in me
would spill out and be washed away.

I wish you knew
That I prayed
and still This tide ran crimson for far too long

I wish you knew
that I found truth here,
solace and redemption.

I wish you knew
the strength of these waves

and how far they have carried me,
carving this understanding to my core.

I wish you knew the very breath of my soul.

I wish you knew that I was so much more then this subsurface skin.

I wish you knew
I wasn't just a leaking vestal for you to fill.
