Crimson red; sticky, thick red
Beautiful and inviting red
Temptation; his name is Pain
He calls to me; soothing falsehoods
Of care and love
“Cut the softness of your hand, my dear”
He croons “And release me from within”
He wants to make his escape
Just as I want him gone, gone GONE...
But the price is much; the stakes are high
A knife, a needle, a pair of scissors
A cut, a stab, the deepest puncture
And he will be gone
My most unwelcome guest will depart
But only briefly so---
He will return
To rip and tear
To exterminate my existence and suffocate my soul
The knife at my side, ready to defend
I taste the freedom of his absence
And smell the blood
Crimson red; sticky, thick red
Beautiful and inviting red...
