standing up
in my garage
where the light
isn't the best
but who needs
good light to
write anyway.
I constantly search for
meaning and deep form
choosing newspapers
or the insides of
used cigarette packs
for my canvasses.
Call it a vertical build
Coit Tower on drugs
shaped slightly atilt
just the way I stand
leaning upon shelf
in cluttered garage
with pen in hand
painting poems.
