THE PALE MOONLIGHT

In the pale moonlight there stirs such a glow
That from Earth it is seen by the stars
All the planets circle to catch a SMALL look
But the worst two are Venus and Mars

They circled around for millions of years
Watching so closely so as never to miss
A moment she’s happy a second she’s sad
A smile or a frown a handshake or a kiss

How do they find her how could they know
Why can her light only be seen from afar
With her smile so big and the gleam in her eye
She always outshines the brightest of stars

Tell me old friend have you seen her today
From which way does she draw you this time
I’ve been trying to find for fifty some years
Swam through rivers and mountains I’ve climbed

If you know of a secret please tell me today
A way I could just catch one little glimpse
I’ve been chasing her beauty for so many years
Every day without her gets harder to live

The secret my friend is to know when to look
Sometimes you act like you’re running a race
You don’t need to journey or go on a quest
Most times she’s staring you right in the face
