Warm spring evening, slow study stupor.
Suddenly a shout starts down the hall.
'Panty Raid! Girls! Panty Raid!'
We rush out into the night, yelling
mass heads towards the women's dorm.
Most stand below the windows and yell
a few watch for lesbian counter-attacks.
Some girls throw panties and bras
a few dance on beds a window show
others close their curtains.
Campus police arrive able to do little

Before long both men a women students
come together to protest the war
Cambodia, Kent State
Campus police again ineffectual
National Guard called out, kids like us
just standing part of the scenery
State troopers were another matter
Curfew kept by their charges
dorms our safe havens
