Listen to the sound of the pill bottle as it falls to the floor as you knock on the door
Asking her why she's upset
She screamed she cried she scratched at the wall
She ripped her shirt
That blood on her skirt
"It'll stain" she said
"Even the rain won't make it go away" she said
The rain floods her eyes
For the thousandth time
Until it overflows and fills her hands
Her shaking hands that scratched the wall
"The walls were always too thin" she said
"They'll hear my secrets again" she said
But don't forget to watch her sin
With those boys
Those dirty boys that ruined her skirt
And those dangerous girls that lifted her shirt and told her
"Everything is fine" they said
"Just go and have a good time" they said
Her trust was always too easy
Her spine was always too weak
So she laid there and had a great time
And pretended everything was just fine
Even with the ripped shirt, the bloody skirt, the bruised knees, and the broken heart
Because no one would listen to her
No one would believe her while she was having so much fun
So she would run
Until the night was done
Run and run until the walls became familiar
And they were even thinner after she scratched and she cried and she screamed
And she wanted to forget about everything
She grabbed the happy pills that her new friends gave her
And she took one
Then she took two
Because "I'm feeling so blue" she said
"And I don't know what else to do" she said
Then another so that she could have fun again
But listen for it before you come in
