Gnawing at the fabric
Of my soul.
Constant picking
At a bleeding sore.
Tearing down a wall,
Only to reveal another.
Scratching, clawing
At a locked door.
Hammering a wedge
Into my broken heart.
Kneading, manipulating,
Sculpting, creating.
Tearing down, destroying.
Escavating, digging.
Reconstructing, rebuilding.
Can I do this again?
Craving, aching, wanting
Only you.
Crawling along a beam
Suspended
High above the ground.
Shaking, uncontrollably.
The fear is paralyzing.
For you to try to open the door
And for me to let you in,
Is like awaiting thieves in the night.
If you come in and steal it,
Please don't throw it away.
Treasure it.
Cherish it.
Keep it safe.
It's all I have left.
