There are times when there is no touch,
where the nights are long and full of tears.
Seeing the years of no hope
weighs heavily on the heart.
Pariah, gentle one of dark places
intimate with the ache of loneliness
within the drift of time.
For a time I was fooled,
touched by another,
ephemeral mirage,
a tease of fate.
There was nothing
but my own foolish dreams.

~~

The title itself carries the message, reinforced by the words that follow.

I'm sure that we all feel like pariahs at times...

....I applaud your ability to convey that painful feeling in words. Not to mention your vulnerability in expressing it. Hugs. You're not a pariah to some of us.
