Clock strikes two.
A train leaves soon.
You run down the stairs
as I follow.

What's that?
Sweet roses!
Yellows by the doorstep
something to remember.

I wasn't expecting them.
or anything else that Life presents.
Bitter sweet moments
come to an end.

Should I say something nice?
The door is ajar
You with your suitcase
Hesitant with words.

I stand frozen
waiting for a kiss,
as if formalities mattered
in these final hours.

It's a forbidden love.
That no one must know
save Time, the Wind
and whispering willows.

You step outside.
Each step into oblivion
irreversible and heavy
and out of my world.

Haunting,
those memories
as I close my eyes
hoping to forget.
