Passion online

Love and passion's sweet embrace untwined,
A heart waits, longing
For love to take passion holding strong
The body and the soul enjoined

Electrons rushing through glass and wire
Carry words whose images in the minds eye
Hold meanings new and bold
Yet no substitute for the soul's desire

But passion by herself can discover
Sweet release apart from the tired ache
of unrequited love and unrequited passion
Yet words can be themselves the master lover

And passions thus released
Allow the heart to gain a little freedom
To cast aside the chains of culture's narrow bounds
And give the body its most desired feast

But hunger always returns when feasts are gone
And love remains the soul's passion
But the body and mind require their own release
The electrons bring words with images contained

And pleasures thus released, the body's need sustained
Stimulate the mind with pleasures for each day
Yet love awaits somewhere in the tinkling breeze
And love and passion will be tightly bound agian
