When once i had held you in my arms,
separated by too much time
my (once) lady of the red-raven hair
my love for you was strong but
distance and time came
between my heart and yours
-
now you are with a man who treats
you as i never would,
placing your worth above mine own
-
and yet you say you feel more loved
than ever you did with me.
now again to look, to search, to find
-
hoping for a woman truthful, a partner
that my dreams shared won't
fall darkened to the ground in shards
