I sat patiently in my room,
outside I hear the city roar and boom,
In the kitchen I can hear the clatter,
In the morning, Mom will say it didn't matter.

Getting darker in my room now,
I can almost see Dad's stern brow,
Mom cowering like an animal by the stove,
Tomorrow he'll say his anger was out of love.

Many night I hid under my pillow,
just hoping and praying the sounds would go low,
never to wipe Mom's blood stained hair,
No more Dad - he doesn't even care.

Still I sit patiently in my room,
rooms getting cold, it'll be here soon,
Tomorrow morning I'll be dead,
They'll be confused and will scratch their heads.

Mom I love you and I hate to leave,
but Dad won't stop there is no reprieve,
he rushes and pushes through life so angrily,
I know someday he would kill you or me.

Now it is dark and breathing is hard,
but Dad in this game I'm playing my last card,
On the floor in my own blood I've wrote,
"Dad, it's your fault I have no hope.....".
